Lightweight & UL Backpacking Foundations Update

Video Editing

I'm very excited to announce that after months of planning, filming, and editing, CleverHiker will complete our first full video series this week - Lightweight & Ultralight Backpacking Foundations!

The series is comprised of 10 episodes with the focus of teaching lightweight backpacking basics to anyone interested in learning how the most innovative backpackers are hiking light these days. This tutorial resource is exactly the type of teaching tool that I wish was around when I started learning about ultralight hiking and thru-hiking.

Our video series will be accompanied by our CleverHiker Gear Recommendations document. Our gear doc is designed to point out our favorite ultralight products on the market today. It will be helpful for highlighting companies that build some of the best UL tools out there but are often overlooked because they don't sell their stuff in large outdoor stores.

This is also a huge week because we'll be putting the finishing touches on our new website design and making it live! There are bound to be some small bugs and growing pains with the new site but we're very excited about how great it looks and functions. We hope you'll like it too!

After we put the finishing touches on our video series, gear doc, and website this week we'll be taking a couple of weeks to compress our videos, test our download process, and build up for a big CH launch. Our tentative launch date for the video series is May 20th. We want to make sure that everything is in working order before we make the announcement official - hopefully this upcoming week.

We are also making some sweet CleverHiker t-shirts, stickers, and bandanas for our launch and we hope to give away a bunch of merch to our Facebook and Twitter supporters. So make sure to "Like" our Facebook page and stay tuned for new updates!

Thanks so much for supporting us along the way. I can't tell you how excited we are to see what you think of our first series!

Hike light, hike smart, and have fun,

Dave Collins
