I’m back in the office this week after finishing up about 98% of the filming for the next CleverHiker series!

 

The new content is looking incredible and I know that all backpackers will enjoy the series focus. I’m really excited to fill everyone in on the details and I’m working on a blog post to give the full update. I’m offering the post up as a guest post to one of my favorite blogs, so we’ll see if that works out.

 

Now that filming is near complete, I hope to be putting a lot more of my time and effort in to blog posts, subscriber emails, and website updates. It’s time for me to get more engaged with the CleverHiker community again. After all, you’re the reason that I dedicated myself to this project in the first place!

 

This morning I was greeted with the following email. Notes like this are a constant reminder that my videos are making a difference in people’s lives and it fuels my energy to pour more of my heart into CleverHiker. Thank you for all of your kind words!

  • We have over 1,200 YouTube Subscribers!
  • We have about 850 Facebook Followers and over 200 Twitter Followers!
  • And in a lot of ways, I’m really just getting started.

I saw your intro video on youtube and and was curious about the gear book and the rest of your tips.I’m about half way through the videos, but so far I’m really excited about the clear, concise explanation of lightweight options.

 

I’ve backpacked once, and mistakenly packed way too heavy before doing 3000 ft elevation climb up to Little Yosemite Valley.Won’t make that mistake again.

I really appreciate that you give pros and cons for each option, but at the end pick 1 if you’re on a budget or want the most versatile option.

I’m hiking Zion in early November so I’m looking forward to what the videos recommend for rain gear.

I’ve been borrowing gear from friends before investing in any of my own, so I’m really trying to get information to put a first set together that isn’t too expensive.I imagine I’ll do 4 to 6 three-day trips the next 2 years, but no long-distance or thru hiking.
