Sarah Nelson is an avid hiker, backpacker, and rock climber with an extensive tenure in the outdoor industry. After graduating from college with a degree in journalism, Sarah moved to Colorado and dove head-first into the mountain culture, eventually landing a job at a gear-review website that allowed her to combine her editorial expertise with her penchant for outdoor adventure.

With nearly a decade of gear-testing experience under her belt, Sarah prides herself on informative, engaging coverage. For Sarah, the best content doesn’t come from spec sheets or product pages—it comes from extended mileage on the trail, long days shivering at hanging belays, and grueling alpine starts.

Previously living out of her converted van, Sarah is now based in the Lake Tahoe area and splits her time romping around the West Coast’s endless expanse of granite and escaping to warmer climbing destinations in the winter months.
